Cool design great ration speed and beautiful details ! what is that music u are using, it sounds familiar too me is it from an Asian martial arts film or something Bullet-proof Monk, Hero, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Myth, House of Flying Daggers maybe?
i jsut realized where the music i hear is coming from.. i had your image in the background and didnt shut the window and kept hearing this music, felt real nice to design with and not knowing its perfect MECHA MODELING MUSIC!!
is it bad that i only seen 1-3 episodes of all the gundam ever made? i never got into it.. i was more of a golion , big-o, transor z, mazinga z, getter robo over the gundams.. then transformers came and changed everything for the gobots... haha!! i want you to post more music with your art, it fits the style and sets the mood also gives a nice environment to the viewers!!
There's nothing bad with being "Super" Robot fan. Pilots shouting the names of their attacks before kicking their enemy's ass is very entertaining . However, if you wanna get into Gundam, I suggest that you watch Gundam 0079 Trilogy Movies or Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket - it's only six episode but the story is very fulfilling
Hmm... Let's see. Since you like hot blooded robot shows, I suggest you try these:
King Of Braves: Gaogaigar - 49 episodes long. Follows the super robot formula and very episodic at the beginning. However, sheer awesomeness will ensue at the latter half. Since you're a fan of the Transformers, you'll be delighted to know that some of the mechs here are designed by Takara, the Japanese counterpart of Hasbro
King of Braves: Gaogaigar FINAL - 8 episode long. This is an absolutely incredible and amazing OVA to follow up with the great TV series. The pacing is perfect, the fights are awesome, the animation is good and the music rocks. The mecha design is AWESOME and their attacks are kickass.
Gun X Sword - 26 episodes long. It's Kill Bill meets the wild west plus mechs. Though it's not your typical revenge show.
Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-Hen - 26 episodes long. The retelling of the original's basic story.
Full Metal Panic! - 24 Episodes (Season 1), 14 Episode (Season 2, AKA The Second Raid). Okay ,it's not exactly a Super Robot show but I think you'll like it.
when i started to use SketchUp i found that you build 1 shape and expand from there by drawing a new shape off the first object and either pull or push it on the Z axis and evolve the original shape into a large form... did i mis-interpet that as the building blocks of SketchUp or is it done in a different manner?
Ahh.. That's one way of making a component in sketchup. I usually draw the object first on paper, scan it, import it in Sketchup and then "draw" the contours on top of the imported image using the Pencil tool. From there, I use the other various tools to achieve my desired result
